		GAUGE PROTECTION

In order to increase wear resistance and to prevent the diameter of the bit from gauge loss the following types of hardfacing are used:

Type 1
Hardfacing of П- and Ш-shaped teeth surface

Type 2
Hardfacing of Г- and T-shaped teeth surface

		INSERT GAUGE PROTECTION

Type 1
Gauge protection with one row of flat inserts

Type 2
Gauge protection with two rows of flat inserts

Type 3
Gauge protection with rows of flat and gage inserts

		LEG AND SHIRTTAIL PROTECTION

Type 1
Hard grain alloy is applied along the shirttail

Type 2
Hard grain alloy is applied along the shirttail and leg entering edge

Type 3
Hard grain alloy is applied along the shirttail and leg entering edge; ball plug area on the leg entering edge is protected with TCI

Type 4
Hard grain alloy is applied along the shirttail and leg entering edge; ball plug area and the entering edge of the whole leg is protected with TCI

Type 5
Reinforced protection of the whole leg by hard grain alloy and TCI with additional protection of the leg slant.
